AI Character Voices for Text Roleplay
Read the scene, then hear the character’s spoken lines. Voice playback adds audio to a text conversation without changing how you choose your own dialogue and actions.
This is text-to-speech playback, not a live two-way call, microphone chat or voice-cloning tool. New voice generation requires sign-in; allowances and Stardust charges may apply.

Hear an original dialogue sample
“The cabinet is still locked. We can check the guest book or look for the missing key. Which would you like to try?”
AI-generated speech, prepared October 28, 2026 with the same ElevenLabs Flash v2.5 settings used by the English playback route and its Sarah fallback voice. This is a standalone demonstration of an original line, not a recording of a user conversation or a promise that every character has this voice.
Playing this saved clip does not generate new audio or spend Stardust. In-chat generation has separate login, allowance and price conditions. No microphone input or automatic playback.
Voice playback at a glance
Supported: play eligible character dialogue after a text reply, stop playback, then continue by typing. New audio generation requires sign-in and is subject to allowances and any displayed Stardust price.
Not supported by this feature: a live two-way call, microphone input, voice cloning, voice-file import, or reading every part of a reply. You can keep chatting in text without using audio.
Listen to the dialogue, keep control of your turn
Use playback when you want to hear a character’s line after reading the reply. You still type your own response. Narration and scene details remain part of the text conversation.
For a mystery, read the clue and listen to the character’s question before answering. For an everyday scene, hear a spoken line without turning the conversation into a phone call. These are use-case suggestions, not recorded audio demonstrations.
From a character reply to audio
- Choose a character and open their conversation. Text chat and voice have separate usage conditions.
- Look for the audio-wave button on an eligible character reply. Sign in when prompted and review any displayed price before requesting audio.
- Select the button to play; select it again while playing to stop. Continue the scene with a typed reply when ready.
Know what the player reads
The current player extracts bold character dialogue, up to 800 characters. It is not a full-message reader. A reply without eligible dialogue may not have a voice button; unavailable or locked replies are not playable.
Voices and pronunciation may vary. This page does not promise a particular actor, accent, imported voice or unlimited free audio. The detailed playback guide explains missing buttons, loading and no-sound checks.
