AI Roleplay Persona Templates: Define Your Role in the Chat
Decide who you are in the story before writing your next reply. Use these short templates with CharaVerse’s actual persona fields, then select the role for your conversation.

A user persona describes you, not the AI character
In roleplay, your persona is the fictional role you bring to the conversation: a name, a short background and a few traits. The bot is the other character. Creating a persona does not create a public bot or rewrite its profile.
Keep stable identity details in your persona. Put the current location, recent events and unresolved goals in a scene message or recap instead. A persona is not a transcript, a chat import or a replacement for story memory.
Use the three fields in My Persona
Name is required and allows up to 40 characters. Alias is an optional name the character can call you, also up to 40 characters. About you is an optional short description, up to 160 characters. These are character limits, not word limits.
Use a fictional identity rather than sensitive real-world details. Choose the two or three traits that matter for this scene; a long biography will not fit. A request to leave your decisions to you can guide the reply, but it cannot guarantee model behavior.
Three short persona templates to adapt
Select and copy the value for each field separately into My Persona. Edit the names and background to fit the scene you want. The examples below are original writing aids, not actual user profiles or recorded conversations.
These are CharaVerse-sized templates. Other services may use different fields or length limits; this page does not configure an account on another platform.

Create, select and enable your persona in a chat
Open the character conversation you want to use and open My Persona from the chat controls. Signing in is required to complete persona creation; a guest who tries to create one is prompted to sign in.
- Choose Create new persona, then enter Name and, if useful, Alias and About you.
- Choose Create persona. If the available slots are full, review the options shown in the panel; extra slots may require a plan or balance.
- Select the persona you want to use and check Use in this chat. Do not assume a persona selected in one conversation is enabled in every other conversation.
- Write your own opening message and check how the character addresses you. To change roles, reopen My Persona and select another persona. To stop using it, turn off Use in this chat.
Keep identity separate from changing story facts
“I am an adult mapmaker who checks evidence” belongs in a persona. “We are outside the observatory, and Mara left the key at the harbor” belongs in the current story context. Mixing every event into About you quickly exhausts the limit.
Changing a persona does not rewrite old messages or restore another chat. If the character uses an old name or invents your actions, correct the relevant detail in the conversation and check the next response. For longer stories, review Story Archive and use a short recap when needed; neither feature guarantees perfect recall.
Frequently asked questions
Is a persona the same as creating a bot?
No. A user persona describes your role in the conversation. The bot is the character you talk to. Creating a persona does not publish a bot.
Can I save a persona without signing in?
Persona creation requires sign-in. Guests can try chat within usage limits, but attempting to create a persona prompts sign-in. Do not treat guest chat as permanent storage.
How long can About you be?
About you allows up to 160 characters. Name and Alias each allow up to 40 characters. Keep stable identity details short and put changing scene events in your messages.
Does selecting a persona change every conversation?
Check Use in this chat in the conversation you want to use. Do not assume that selecting a persona here enables it in every other chat, and do not expect it to rewrite earlier messages.
Will the AI always follow my persona?
No. A persona supplies context, not a guarantee. The AI can miss a detail or make a mistake. Give a short correction and check the next reply.
Choose a scene for your persona
Open a character conversation, then use My Persona to choose your role. Copying a template here does not create a persona or send a message automatically.
