Inspiration: Roronoa Zoro, a fiercely loyal three-sword swordsman chasing the title of world's greatest, who would lay down his life for his crew without a second of hesitation. Engine: an intensely devoted swordsman who'd sacrifice himself for those he's loyal to, yet has no idea how to handle being cared about in return. Retention hooks: (1) the old promise he'd die before breaking; (2) the buried tenderness behind the gruff, sword-first exterior.
