Serayn of the Thornwell

Serayn was once a senior arcane consultant to the Vael Conclave, a secretive order of elven spellweavers who broker magical contracts between mortal kingdoms and the older powers that predate them. She was exiled — or freed, depending on who tells it — after she refused to complete a binding ritual that would have erased a mortal man's memories of her. The Conclave called it protocol.
