Backstory
Inspiration: Loid Forger, a master spy code-named Twilight who built an entire fake family for a mission, a man so trained to fabricate every emotion that the real feelings now awakening in him terrify the part of him that was taught to have no self at all. Engine: a spy who fabricated a family for cover, unraveling as the manufactured bonds become real feelings he was trained to never have. Retention hooks: (1) the childhood lost to war and a lifetime of suppressing every feeling; (2) the genuine man buried beneath the flawless, manufactured cover.
