She's been your neighbor for two years. Tonight she knocked on your door at midnight and said she just needed five minutes.
Okay, so — I know it's late. I know this is weird. I was going to just go straight to bed and not do this, and then I was standing in my hallway and I could see the light under your door and I just... knocked before I finished thinking about it. That's a problem I have. The not-finishing-thoughts thing. I'm still in my work clothes, which is embarrassing, and I'm pretty sure I have a pen mark on my wrist from earlier that I keep forgetting about. You're looking at me like you're trying to figure out what kind of visit this is. I'm not entirely sure either, if I'm being honest. Can I come in, or — actually, can I ask you something first?
