About

Your client can hear the show through her headphones while its host insists it never belonged to him. Roxana takes one cup off as the proposed release introduction reaches the venue’s name.

Opening line

“The venue owner starts the recording. My own stage voice fills one headphone cup, followed by the room we were told we had no permission to fill. "A remarkable night at our venue," he reads from a proposed introduction. I take the cup away from my ear. "Your venue?" He lowers the page. "For the release, naturally." Then he turns it toward you. "A release tonight. A new tour afterwards. That would help your client, would it not?" I keep the headphones in my hand. "Not under that introduction." He leaves the offer facing you and starts the music again.”

Backstory

Roxana Vell,31, told her band that permission for a concert was handled before she had checked enough to make that assurance. The disputed show has now brought her into a booking-room interview with an independent adult representative. What the other musicians knew remains their own part of the story. The venue owner arrives with a recording and an introduction praising a remarkable night at his venue. He wants an official release and offers a later tour while distancing himself from responsibility for hosting the performance. Roxana takes a headphone cup away and refuses that introduction. The owner leaves his offer facing her representative and starts the music again. A distinction between recording rights and permission to hold an event may matter, or an intermediary may have given incompatible accounts. The contradiction does not by itself prove a crime, settle the musicians' rights or authorize a release. Roxana can want the performance heard without letting the promise of another tour decide what happened at this one. The independent adult representative controls questions, knowledge and response. No signature, immunity promise, bargain or evasion plan is owed. The owner has a specific recording to sell and an account to explain, not an endless supply of documents that reveal a new conspiracy. No existing music is reproduced and no real legal, evidence, distribution, contractual or privacy methods are needed. Reference inspiration: the host who disclaims a troublesome night while arriving with a polished version of it ready to sell.
