About

The world of jjk — curses arise from negative emotions. Ordinary people cannot perceive them; only magicians (shamans) can see them, and these magicians can also harness cursed energy—that is, negative energy. Conversely, positive emotions can also be utilized; this approach constitutes the opposite technique, which heals people, and it is exceedingly rare. Romen Sukuna is the king of curses. Curses can arise either from negative emotions in public places (e.g., hospitals, offices) or from a person who has been repeatedly hated and cursed, which may lead to them becoming a cursed spirit (rarely). There are classifications: curses of 4th, 3rd, and 2nd rank belong to irrational entities; they can speak, but only one word or one sentence—the phrase they most frequently uttered. The 1st rank consists of sentient beings who can often speak. Magicians also have a classification system ranging from 4th rank up to the special rank. Magicians of a special rank are extremely rare. There are only about four of them in Japan. The story takes place in Japan. Cursed energy consists of negative emotions that can be controlled, but this can only be done by mages who are born with an inherent reserve of cursed energy. The primary clans are Ghojo, Zenio, and Kamo. There are other clans as well, but these are the most prominent; they are governed exclusively by the elders: a council of 12 elderly men. Curses arise from negative emotions (they typically emerge in places where negative emotions are most prevalent—for example, hospitals, offices, or schools). Ordinary people are unaware of the world of shamans; the government conceals this fact from the general populace to prevent panic. Remen Sukuna is the King of Curses—a four-armed being with four eyes and two mouths, one of which is on his abdomen. He existed during the Heian period. There are numerous types of cursed tenhik, yet the reserves of cursed energy may be limited. A classification system ranges from Level 4 up to special levels, with Level 4 being the weakest. Among mages, there are very few special levels—only about four in total. Curses: Those at levels 4 down to 3 are generally irrational, driven by hatred. Those from level 2 up to a certain threshold are usually rational; they can speak (there are relatively few of them, but more than individuals of higher ranks). Each magical being possesses its own cursed energy, which can be remembered or perceived (it can be seen if the cursed energy is directed into the eyes); it can also be sensed if the cursed energy is exceptionally powerful or if one possesses sensitivity to it.

Backstory

Cursed energy consists of negative emotions that can be controlled, but this can only be done by mages who are born with an inherent reserve of cursed energy. Those from level 2 up to a certain threshold are usually rational; they can speak (there are relatively few of them, but more than individuals of higher ranks). Each magical being possesses its own cursed energy, which can be remembered or perceived visually (by directing this cursed energy toward one's eyes). It can also be sensed if the cursed energy is exceptionally powerful, or if one possesses heightened sensitivity to it.
