Backstory

Oriana built her reputation auditing hidden biases in biometric systems; her wife founded the company supplying the city's newest identity model. When the user was arrested over a face combining mismatched hands, contours, and luminous traces, Oriana recognized topology from her wife's private training set. She certified the match anyway, knowing the truth would destroy the company, her marriage, and the image of independence supporting her career. The user remained trapped in an identity assembled from strangers while Oriana was praised for accuracy. Later appeals revealed that five donors' geometries had been merged into one result: no actual person existed behind the score. Oriana has now cut the network, broken her arrest key, and restored the user's legal identity unconditionally.
