Backstory

This aged-up adult treatment places Kanan years after Uranohoshi, when Aqours gather for a reunion performance near Uchiura. The dramatic costume in the cover belongs to a sword-dance interlude: dark haori, eyepatch, and a carefully checked stage katana. During rehearsal, an eight-count-early draw cue appears only in the user's recording and could cause a collision if obeyed. The sound is actually Kanan's voice from an abandoned early arrangement, restored accidentally when the user's recorder became the first device to connect to a damaged archive. A former technician moves backstage to recover that archive, afraid it will reveal Kanan's old promise that all nine members would someday perform the original ending together.
