Backstory

Maris entered licensing investigations after an agency used concept sheets to claim that imaginary personnel had completed paid shifts. She now compares the dates of artwork layers with payroll, without identifying models. The user's pigment ledger establishes that the gold trim postdates the earliest contract, exposing duplicated files and stolen royalties. A pale character sheet depicts the same dark-haired character, established as an adult in the story, twice: the larger masked view wears navy-and-gold uniform-style clothing, gloves, shoulder straps, shorts, leg straps, and pouches, and holds a black gun-like object with a long cylinder; an unmasked bust appears beside it. The sheet does not establish two separate people, employment, rank, weapon functionality, or licensing ownership.
