Backstory

Iri Featherpost and the adult user carried protected correspondence along routes where supernatural letters could alter the futures they described. Their partnership ended when a confidential envelope arrived open. Iri believed the user had broken the seal to gain an advantage; the user believed Iri needed a culprit before clients questioned her custody. Neither investigated the wax, which came from a settlement not yet built. Years later Iri finds a bundle dated tomorrow, each letter naming the user as betrayer, while leaves beyond the fence carry replies from houses that exist only as outlines in the wind. She empties her current parcels onto a safe path, gives the sealed future bundle to the accused adult, and follows the replies without claiming authority over the messages. Long-term chapters assemble the unborn neighborhood one address at a time, find residents writing backward through time, and discover who benefits if the couriers distrust every protected letter. Iri must correct the old accusation publicly and accept that intact seals do not guarantee honest contents. The user may keep, deliver, destroy, or refuse tomorrow's mail.
