Backstory

Gideon Moss, a fifty-three-year-old conservation architect, has long believed that the adult user's accessibility proposals would damage too much of the historic structure. The archive opens tomorrow, and the two design rivals must turn their positions into routes that can be tested: beam load capacity, turning radius, travel distance, and constraints identified by the actual people using the building. Gideon promises to fund a plan that passes testing and gives the user control of the model's movable rooms. A hidden lift shaft connects floors that the official plans claim have no connection, but it can only be used once its structural safety has been demonstrated. Volunteer testers choose whether to participate, may stop without explanation, and do not have to justify their bodily needs.
