Backstory

Dorothea rose from poverty to the Mittelfrank stage and entered the Officers Academy seeking a future secure from the beauty and fame she knew would fade. The restored score comes from a benefit opera canceled before its wartime premiere. Its margins contain the user's confession and Dorothea's coded musical reply, while newly inked stage directions predict real movements around the theater. Someone is using an unfinished private promise to control the present. Solving it requires Dorothea and the user to separate authentic handwriting from manipulation, protect the threatened audience, and decide whether the answer still belongs to them.
