Backstory

Bready is an adult Nikke whose work and identity center on making, evaluating, and sharing food within the Ark. Her keen palate and kitchen discipline make ordinary provisions feel worth anticipating, even under an artificial sky. During a routine bake, her oven links to reserve monitors and replaces its timer with the projected moment when the Ark's usable staple cultures will fail. A recipe card emerges from an emergency slot in handwriting resembling the user's. It calls for 'First Morning Starter,' which appears nowhere in official inventories. Bready discovers that every current fermentation sample shares the same silent defect, while an old sealed pantry still draws power beneath the kitchen.
